In the 18th and 19th centuries, wooden sailing ships were built in Kristiinankaupunki.
On their journeys back, the ships brought salt and spices from the Mediterranean.
The merchants stored them in lager houses made of timber and planks, and sold the imports to the townspeople and travelers.
So was the case in the Krepelin yard, too. Built between 1806 and 1860, the buildings, externally in their original shape, but internally fully renovated between 2002 and 2007, function today as hotel apartments for Hotel Krepelin.
Hotel Krepelin also has a sauna in one of the former lager houses, and welcomes guests as well as travelers to enjoy the real Finnish sauna experience at their own quiet and peace.
- A dressing room with a long antique bench for relaxing and cooling down
- A toilet
- The shower room with two showers
- The sauna room with electrical stove
- Towels at request
- Disposable bench covers
The Krepelin Sauna is heated per request and can be enjoyed as long as you like.
The sauna fits four persons comfortably, or six if you want to bath with a bigger group.
The sauna is free when it’s reserved with a room booking. Otherwise the price is 10 EUR / person / 4 hours.
Krepelin sauna can be used freely during your stay at Hotel Krepelin. You can book the rooms via Booking.com, where the ideal rooms to book are D4 (Studio Apartment) and D5 (Superior Apartment), which are just opposite the sauna.
